Drugs do not heal anyone. What drugs can do is stimulate, suppress or replace the action of an organ or system of the body. An example would be someone having asthma. Usually a steroid is used. A steroid is a hormone that we normally produce under a physical or mental stress. These steroids are normally produced from the adrenal glands, which in turn stimulate the sympathetic (fight/flight) nervous system. The asthmatic patient doesn’t produce enough steroids to deal with the physical or mental stress, resulting in an asthmatic attack. Does the steroid help the patient? Yes, yes, yes. Does the steroid help the patient in the long term? No, no, no.

A long-term solution is to figure out why the person’s adrenal glands are not working properly. Whether it is the adrenal gland or a pimple on your nose, what controls healing and function is the life energy inside of you. Nothing heals unless you are alive. This life energy travels through the nervous system. Now, I know what you are thinking: “It must be a pinched nerve and that’s why my adrenal glands don’t work.” This is probably correct, but it’s not that simple.

If you have been out of alignment for years, then the nerves that control the adrenal function may take years to come back. Sometimes, the nerves are so damaged that they can never come back.

So, here is the plan.

First, start by visiting a chiropractic doctor in Escondido and  getting chiropractic checkups to remove any nerve pressure which is possibly causing the adrenal malfunction. Second, because the nerves are dormant or damaged, it will take some time for the nerves to heal. So, avoid the food allergies, airborne allergies, or mental stresses that trigger an asthmatic attack.

Unless it is a life or death situation, avoid the steroid inhaler or drug. The reason to avoid them is because you want the adrenals to wake up and heal. We do not want the glands to become lazy and reliant on the artificial steroid.

Give yourself 1-2 years of Escondido chiropractic care and avoidance of the physical and mental stressors. Wait it out. If after 2 years you don’t improve on your own, you can always go back to the drugs (steroids). Give yourself a chance to heal from your own life force. Work with your symptoms to know what your stressors are, and you’ll be surprised how your body can heal itself.  This approach to asthma is the same with all drug approaches. When you stimulate, suppress, or replace an organ’s function, you make it lazy and impossible for it to come back on its own.

Chiropractic requires patience and is not a quick fix. Sometimes the damage is done, and the nerves can’t heal for proper function. So what?! You’ll never know unless you try and the worst that will happen is that you’ll have a better spine and be healthier in other ways as a result of a better working nervous system.
